Homesharing is a living arrangement where two or more individuals share a home in order to lower the cost of housing, and/or to provide companionship. Homesharing can take many forms, including students sharing with older adults, single individuals sharing with families, and individuals sharing with roommates. At SpacesShared we focus on students as guests and older adults as hosts.
In SpacesShared homesharing arrangements, each individual has their own private bedroom space, but they share common spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, and/or bathrooms. Homesharing can provide many benefits, including reduced housing costs, social engagement, new experiences, intergenerational engagement, and a sense of community.
