If your microphone and camera aren't working in SpacesShared video chat, try the steps below.
Check Browser Compatibility
Ensure you are using one of the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge. We have tested the video chat in these browsers.
Grant Permissions
- Chrome: Click on the lock icon next to the website's URL. Ensure microphone and camera permissions are set to "Allow" or "Ask (default)".
- Firefox: Click the lock icon or camera icon in the address bar. Check microphone and camera permissions are set to "Allow".
- Safari: Go to Safari > Preferences > Websites. Check the microphone and camera settings for the specific website.
- Edge: Click the lock icon or camera icon in the address bar. Verify microphone and camera permissions are enabled.
Verify Hardware Connections
Ensure that the microphone and camera are properly connected. Test them in other applications (Voice Recorder, Camera app) to confirm they work outside the browser.
Other steps
- Restart your browser.
- Clear browser cache and cookies.
- Update browser and device drivers.
- Check firewall and antivirus settings — they may block access to the microphone and camera.
- If the issue persists, contact the SpacesShared support team. Provide details about the browser, OS, and any error messages.
