Student Moving Out

What to do as the agreement end date approaches — renew, plan move-out, and notify Customer Success.

2 months in advance of the agreement end date, the host and guest will receive a reminder email from Customer Success regarding the approaching move-out date. At this time, a decision can be made regarding renewing the agreement or planning a move-out.

Renewing Your Agreement

If both parties have decided to renew the agreement, see the Renewing the Agreement guide for details on how the host can initiate the process.

Note: Students — please ensure your Tenant Insurance policy is renewed if expiring or continue monthly payments if on a month-to-month basis.

Moving Out

If both parties have decided not to renew the agreement and the guest will be moving out, please discuss the following details together and complete the following tasks:

  • Confirm the move-out day (no later than the last day of the Homeshare Agreement).
  • Plan the time the guest will leave on move-out day.
  • Arrange for the keys to be returned to the host.
  • The guest must remove all their belongings by the time they leave on move-out day.
  • Email customersuccess@spacesshared.ca on the day of move-out to confirm completion.

Listing Status for Hosts

  • If renewing the agreement, the listing will show as available from the end date of the renewed agreement.
  • If the guest is moving out, the listing will show as 'Available Now' once the current agreement ends.
