Hosts delegating account access

Hand temporary access of your host account to a trusted helper to complete profile, listing, and verification steps.

Using this functionality, Hosts can delegate access to another user for 24 hours to help them complete their profile, listings and verifications. Note that any verifications would happen on the host's email id and contact number provided in the host's profile information.

How do Hosts provide access to a delegate user?

  1. Login to spacesshared.ca.
  2. Open the delegate access menu.
  3. In the Delegate Access popup, provide the email address of the user you would like to give access to for 24 hours and click on Submit.
  4. On successfully submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation that the user has been sent an email with instructions on how to access your account.

Delegated Users accessing the host account

  1. Open the email you would have received with the subject "Temporary Access to host name Account".
  2. This email will contain a magic link which when clicked will open the delegate user authentication page.
  3. Click on Send Verification Code on this page, to send a verification code to your email address.
  4. Enter the 5-digit verification code from your email and click on Give me access.
  5. On successful verification, you will be directed to the host's About Me page from where you will have access to the user's profile information, listing, Housemate Preferences and Verifications.
  6. On completion of the changes click on Sign Out on the top right-hand corner to exit the host's account.

Please note

  • The delegate access is given for a 24-hour period, after which the access will expire.
  • The host can give access to a delegate user once in 24 hours and subsequently any number of times.
  • The delegate user can login any number of times after the host gives access to their account until the access expires.
  • Any changes made by the delegate user are made directly on the host's account and should be done in a responsible manner.
